Crevasse Rescue Clinic
A working knowledge of improvised rescue systems is essential for all mountaineers and alpine climbers traveling in glaciated terrain. Although this course cannot replace a detailed mountaineering course, it will give you the specific knowledge to perform a self-rescue in glaciated terrain. The focus is of this course is on:
- Glacier travel route finding
- Rope management skills
- Knots
- Snow and ice anchor theory
- Mechanical raising systems
- Lowering systems
- Self-ascending methods
